We are so excited to introduce drivers who are looking for a Chevy Silverado for sale to the refreshed 2024 Chevy Silverado HD. This powerful workhorse has always been a fan-favorite among Silverado loyalists. Chevy’s heavy-duty models boast incredible torque and horsepower, giving them the ability to tow and haul massive loads. It's rare that you pull up to a construction site, farm, warehouse, or just about anywhere that needs heavy-duty vehicles and don't see at least one Silverado HD. Those in the know understand that when you need unbeatable power, you need a Chevy Silverado HD.
Following the redesign of the light-duty Silverado 1500 for 2023, Chevy has turned its attention to the Silverado HD for 2024. The new model includes many of the popular features introduced for the smaller pickup, but they have been modified to work for a commercial-grade truck. The great news is that the updates to the 2024 Silverado HD are pretty buzz-worthy. Here's what's new (and surprising) about the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD trucks. Plus, we'll list some of the lovable features from the previous year that have luckily stayed just where we want them.
The Statement-Making Fascia Has Been Updated
This one might be a shock to many. The previous fascia of the Silverado HD was polarizing, to be sure. Those who like to keep their labels big and bold where everybody can see them loved having the word "Chevrolet" scrawled across the center of the grille in huge letters in the 2023 model. Chevy is one of those brands that develop a cult-like following. For many, once they buy a Chevy, they become a Chevy driver for life. That devotion tends to intensify for the Silverado HD because owners quickly come to learn how much value these pickups deliver. So, some people were proud to have the word "Chevrolet" arrive at any scene a few feet before they did.
However, drivers who like something more subtle from Roseville Chevy Dealers can breathe a sigh of relief because Chevrolet has made the interesting choice to remove this bold, signature-style detail. The new fascia has swapped out the "Chevrolet" text for a simple Chevy bowtie. It's not even that big. It makes us wonder if Chevy conducted a survey to see if fans wanted the old fascia to stay and heard a resounding "No." Either way, we tend to think the iconic bowtie speaks for itself.
Chevy did sneak in a little bit of brand-centric styling with the C-shaped daytime running lights. You might not have realized that's what they were before, but Chevy definitely wanted to show its most devoted fans that it isn't removing its name from the fascia entirely. You'll also notice just along the bottom of the hood scoop, the name "Chevrolet" has been engraved, so there is still badging happening––it's just more discreet.
Interior Changes We Think You'll Love
First off, something we love is the new Nightshift Blue leather found inside the High Country trim. It's actually hard to notice it in images and footage, but if you visit your local Sacramento Chevy dealership, you'll see that, in person, it instantly welcomes you into the truck with its rich and warm hue. The High Country also offers Jet Black and Umber interiors, and all three available colors pair well with the new woodgrain trim for a much more high-end feel.
Moving onto tech, all trims above the WT and Custom get a new 13.4-inch color touchscreen with Google built-in. It's quite stunning and is like having a small laptop hoisted up in your cockpit. Moving over to the driver's area, you'll get a 12.3-inch color screen that's completely configurable, letting you decide what information you'd like to see. If you've had a chance to drive the 2023 Silverado 1500, you already know just how capable and intuitive this new infotainment setup is.
Now here's one subtle change you might not notice at first glance: Chevy has actually tilted the main touchscreen inwards ever so slightly. This little change works to make the cab a little more driver-centric, with the screen almost hugging your line of vision, like it would in a spaceship. When that's combined with the Nightshade Blue in the High Country trim, the atmosphere is nearly intergalactic.
Advanced Tech For More Control
The 2024 Silverado HD is still going to have the class-leading 14-camera views that help you see what's happening around your truck and trailer, along with that handy trailer view that lets you see through your trailer. What's new (and genius) is the Transparent Trailer View's new ability to work with gooseneck and fifth-wheel trailers. This gives drivers even more flexibility regarding what they can trailer without sacrificing excellent visibility. Adaptive Cruise Control and Side Blind Zone Alert have also been enhanced for a better experience when towing.
Speaking of more flexibility, there is now an available trailering package for the 2024 Silverado 2500 HD that boosts the max tow rating to 22,500 lbs. If you are interested in a bigger truck, the 2024 Silverado 3500 HD can still tow up to 36,000 lbs. Either way, those into that RV life might have a busy summer ahead of them now. Chevy has also replaced the six-speed automatic transmission that came with the gasoline engine, making the rugged 10-speed Allison standard across the lineup. That makes those shifts smoother and ensures you get just the right amount of power that you need when you need it.
The ZR2 Has Made It to HD
This might be one of the most exciting updates to the 2024 Silverado HD: it's finally getting a ZR2 trim. This is huge for drivers who have always loved the towing and hauling powers of Chevy's heavy-duty trucks but felt limited in where they could drive them. Considering those excellent trailering and towing abilities are perfect for dragging ATVs and campers off to remote sites, finally getting an off-road-ready Silverado HD is just perfect. In fact, we're kind of wondering what took Chevy so long to make this decision, but we're too excited to fault them for the delay.
The High Country Gets a Midnight Edition
Fans of the previous 2023 Silverado HD High Country might have faulted it for all those chrome accents. From the side view mirrors to the grille, there were a lot of shiny parts where not everyone wanted them. Luckily, now the High Country comes in the Midnight Edition, giving you the option to have all of the luxury features you love from this trim, along with a really sophisticated blacked-out look.
A Thoughtful Upgrade
At Future Chevrolet, we're very impressed with the thoughtful upgrades that Chevy has made to the 2024 Silverado HD. It's clear the engineers thought long and hard about what people already loved about this truck and made sure to either keep those features or enhance them. Then they thought about what additions would excite drivers and dove in head first.
The fascia update was a bold move. The previous design definitely made a statement, but perhaps Chevy did its research and decided it was time to tone things down stylistically. That might also have been the thought process behind the addition of the Midnight Edition to the High Country trim. The performance and tech upgrades from the enhanced Transparent Trailer View to the standard 10-speed Allison transmission to the addition of the off-road ZR2 trim are things that we really think Sacramento drivers will love. After all, we certainly love them ourselves. So give us a call or visit us today, and come check out all the great features yourself.
