Chevy produces vehicles ideal for all sorts of climates, but for Citrus Heights, many vehicles from this beloved manufacturer work well with our California weather. If you want a sizable vehicle, an EV, or a thrill ride, Chevy has all of it, and at Future Chevrolet of Sacramento, you can find the best deals on all Chevy vehicles.

Amongst the wide selection of available Chevy vehicles, which one would be right for you? Every driver has different wants and needs when it comes to their automobile, so how do you gauge the interest of all different types of people? For Citrus Heights drivers, we recommend the Chevy Tahoe, Bolt EV, and the Camaro – an SUV, EV, and a sports car. The Tahoe is a full-size beast with ample performance and tremendous versatility, the Bolt EV will save you money in the long run by stepping your foot into the ever-growing world of EVs, and the Camaro will give you an exhilarating and powerful ride. Let’s start with our first recommendation – the Chevy Tahoe.

Chevy Tahoe

Maybe you’ve seen the commercials, or you might know someone who owns one of these massively popular full-size SUVs. No matter how you first heard of it, the Chevy Tahoe is the full-size SUV you should consider if you live in Citrus Heights. Let’s take a closer look at the latest model, the 2022 Tahoe, to discuss the latest performance and specifications you can expect.

The 2022 Tahoe starts at an MSRP of $50,200, and this full-size SUV can seat a maximum of nine passengers.[a] That’s right, the Tahoe can seat an entire household, and there will still be enough extra seats for a few friends. Within the spacious interior, there are many ways to maximize your cargo room. For example, the Tahoe will give you 25.5 cu.ft. behind the third row, which is absurdly impressive for a vehicle that holds nine passengers. However, folding down the furthest back row will increase the cargo space to 72.6 cu.ft., and folding down the next row adds on top of this to a whopping 122.9 cu.ft.

Let’s discuss performance. Three available powertrains are offered to Tahoe drivers – including two V8 engines and a turbo-diesel I-6, and each engine comes paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The higher-end V8 engine creates 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, and the maximum towing capacity for the Tahoe sits at 8,400 lbs with the base V8. Let’s say you want to go down to the aforementioned Folsom Lake, your Tahoe can easily tow your speed boat, or you can easily strap a canoe to the top of the vehicle with available roof racks. Alternatively, if you want to enjoy the beautiful nature found at the Beals Point Recreation Area for a weekend of camping, then the Tahoe will easily carry your camper or cargo container with ease.

Chevy Bolt EV

The Chevy Bolt EV was Chevy’s first-ever released EV, and within the few years it has been on the market, it has received a fair number of upgrades. For example, models released 2020 onwards have a greater mileage range than their predecessors – bringing the range from 238 miles to 259. Since the release of the Bolt EV, Chevy has also released the Bolt EUV, the SUV-inspired sibling of the Bolt EV. However, the Bolt EUV retains the Bolt EV’s former mileage range of 238, which makes the Bolt EV Chevy’s most efficient EV to date, and you’ll find this year’s model at a starting price of $31,500. [a]

This efficiency you’ll get with the Bolt EV is achieved via a powertrain that combines a 65 kWh battery with electric motors to create 200 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. The performance of this powertrain, plus its Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission, allows the Bolt EV to accelerate from 0-60 mph in only 6.5 seconds. Plus, Chevy will install a home charging solution into your garage free of charge, this being a Level 2 charger capable of recharging the battery within seven hours. An understandable growing pain some drivers have with EVs is the lack of charging stations out in public. It’s worth noting that in many areas, including Sacramento and the surrounding districts, charging stations are frequently being added.

Chevy has implemented a couple of ways you can recapture the energy you use when driving your EV, and these features can extend the longevity of your battery life. The first feature is One-Pedal Driving, and the other is Regen on Demand. One-Pedal Driving operates as it sounds – you’ll be using your acceleration pedal to control the speed of your vehicle, and slowly lifting your foot will bring the vehicle to a stop. While this is happening, the kinetic energy your vehicle is creating by slowing down the EV is being recycled by the motors to then transfer directly back to the battery. Regen on Demand works much the same way, except you can choose to slow your vehicle down by pressing down the paddle behind your steering wheel to stop your vehicle instead. When this happens, the energy will be recycled, much like One-Pedal Driving.

Chevy Camaro

The Chevy Camaro is how you have fun on a budget. Against other sports cars, the 2022 Camaro is fairly priced, clocking in at a starting MSRP of $25,000. [a] The Camaro can be customized in a variety of ways, and in its most powerful configuration, this sports car can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in a speedy 3.5 seconds. When you see the Camaro out in the wild, or more accurately on the street, you immediately know it’s a Camaro, and your eyes are instantly drawn to it. The sleek and sharp design with a sporty-looking hood, complete with a heat extractor for one of its four available powertrains, is complemented by a rear spoiler that ensures complete aerodynamic performance.

As we mentioned, there are four available powertrains to select from, and each one is available with a 6-speed manual transmission for those who’d prefer it. However, every engine besides the base one will come paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, with the base offering coming paired with an 8-speed instead, which is still excellent. The base engine for the 2022 Camaro is a turbocharged 2.0L I-4 that gets 275 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The next powertrain is a 3.6L V6 with 335 hp and 284 lb-ft of torque, and this is then followed by a powerful 6.2L V8 engine that creates 455 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque.

If you want the true Camaro experience to drive around our cozy corner of the Golden State, then the 6.2L Supercharged V8 engine gives this sports car a whopping 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. Driving down the Dwight D. Eisenhower Highway on Route 80 with the breeze in your hair while going fast down the road with your Supercharged V8 engine is just one of the fantastic places you can see yourself with the Camaro. Even if you’re looking for a fun road trip to San Francisco in the summertime for some fun in the sun at the beautiful Baker Beach with the Golden Gate Bridge in its vicinity, your Camaro is going to give you memories to forever remember, even in your backyard here in Citrus Heights.
