Tired of waiting for the next big thing? Ready to step into the future? Well, Future Chevrolet of Sacrament, your local California Chevrolet dealer, wants to help you get you there in the new innovative 2024 Chevy Silverado EV. That’s right. Chevy has taken their most popular light-duty truck and given it an electrifying upgrade because at Chevy, not only do they care about the safety and well-being of the driver, but the planet as well. They are striving more than ever before to make zero-emissions driving possible without compromising the power or luxury their vehicles are famous for. And with the state of California promising that by the year 2030, all light-weight vehicles will have to follow their zero-emission policy, affordable and dependable EV and hybrid cars, trucks, and SUVs are more needed than ever.

All this change can be exhilarating to some or worrisome to others. But Chevy is a maker that inspires brand loyalty, so when a consumer can stick with a name they know, it can make that change easier. So we’re going to look at some of Chevy’s most environmentally friendly cars to see all they’re doing not only for their customers but for the environment.

Tough but Friendly

Looking first at Chevy’s newest addition to their already popular line of trucks is the 2024 Silverado EV. This iconic light-duty truck, known for its versatility both on and off the job site, gets an upgrade in 2022 to an all-electric vehicle. The truck is set to make its debut at the Consumer’s Electronics Show in early 2022. But while the EV truck has been redesigned, some aspects remain the same. Such as its spacious and sleek interior giving drivers more than enough legroom and increased headroom to stretch out after a long day. Adding to the luxury, the new Silverado EV is designed with a full glass roof, enhancing the driving experience for drivers and passengers alike.

To make sure the Silverado doesn’t lose any of its power, Chevy has implemented the power and reliability of the Ultium Platform. This electric solution is what allows the truck to keep its rugged nature while also driving with zero emissions.

Simple Smart Compact

The Silverado EV isn’t Chevy’s first foray into the ever-expanding market of electric vehicles. Also featured in their line-up is the affordable, compact hatchback-the Bolt EV. The all-electric vehicle first made its way onto the market in 2017, but the car has received an upgrade for 2022 when it comes to body design and increased cabin room. To add to that, Chevy has extended the line to include a Bolt EUV-an electric utility vehicle. So those drivers that want zero-emission but just need a tad more room or prefer the look of a small SUV to a hatchback need to look no further. With the Bolt EV getting up to 259 miles out of a full charge and the Bolt EUV getting up to 247 miles, drivers can be confident their vehicle is up for a road trip when they are.

With a company like Chevy, you can be sure they’ve taken the guesswork out of charging. Not only do they offer free in-home installation of a Level 2 charging station, but with the My Chevy app, you can check on your battery’s levels and see charging stations along your route. With the Chevy Bolt, going green has never been so easy. The Bolt is a car for the future.

Half and Half

Maybe you’re thinking about going electric, but still not quite sure. Well, good news because with the Chevy line of hybrid vehicles, you won’t have to choose. Chevy gives you the best of both worlds; their classic engines backed up with an electric boost are just the thing to help drivers ease into the idea of going all-electric in the future.

One thing that might prevent some people from switching to electric is the worry of not having enough towing or hauling power when they need it. But with something along the lines of the Chevy Tahoe hybrid, drivers never have to worry. The 2012 Tahoe hybrid gives you as much room and power as ever, with a V8 engine and capacity to haul up to 6,200 lbs. Plus with the ability to drive up to 30 miles on electricity alone. It’s safe to say the Tahoe hybrid offers better fuel economy than most traditional SUVs in its class. While the Chevy Tahoe Hybrid has since been discontinued over the years, it’s still possible to pick up a pre-owned model, making it easier than ever to try out a gas/electric hybrid and see all it can do for you without breaking your wallet.

Going Green

Starting back in 2009, Chevy took its popular sedan, the Malibu, and gave it a drastic make-over, delivering to drivers the Malibu hybrid. The car was a hit and continued to be a popular seller until its final year in 2019. It’s easy to see why the Malibu hybrid sedan is such a hit with drivers looking for an introduction to hybrid cars without diving in headfirst. The Malibu hybrid offers a stylish sedan with the safety and versatility you’d expect from a Chevy car. Plus, an impressive 49 MPG in the city and 43 MPG on the highway that’s enough to make anyone happy. And with its renowned reliability and smooth technology, a Malibu hybrid is a great introduction for drivers unfamiliar with hybrid vehicles.

One of the First

One of the first models Chevy had on the market in the way of hybrid electric cars would be the lesser-known Volt hatchback. Its production ran for about nine years before coming to a halt-the main reason for this being the plug-in technology used at the time and the need for an EV that would go further. So the Volt was inevitably replaced with what is now the Bolt EV in order to compete with other electric cars in the market, such as Tesla and Toyota.

That’s not to say the Chevy Volt wasn’t mourned by its drivers when it was finally discontinued in 2019. It was an innovative model in the hybrid market when it was first introduced. But as technology is always evolving, it was only natural for Chevy to make sure its cars could compete with the best of them, so neither car nor driver was left behind. So while it’s still possible to pick up a pre-owned Chevy Volt, buyers can also look to the Chevy Bolt EV as an option when deciding if and when they want to enter the hybrid or EV market.

Best Decisions

Chevy has always been known as an adaptive, ever-evolving brand, and for a while, it looked like hybrids were the way to go. But with so many recent discontinuations of their previous hybrid vehicles and the popularity of the Bolt EV and EUV, in addition to the exciting release of the 2022 Silverado EV, it’s easy to see Chevy has fully embraced a future in electric. It’s not just for the sake of the consumer, but the planet, that Chevy and so many other automakers chose to head towards cleaner, zero-emissions driving. Because it’s important, and when drivers choose a Chevy, they know they’re making the best possible decision not just for themselves but their community and the planet.
